The Rockefeller Center is a large complex consisting of 19 commercial buildings. At the front of 30 Rock is the Lower Plaza, located in the very center of the complex and below ground level. The Rockefeller Center is famous for it's skating rink in winter and cafe area in summer.[1]

In 1 year after people, the plaza of Rockefeller Center is still a gathering place, but for animals that congregate into the plaza. Frank Lowenstein stated that one of the changes to take place in New York City is the return of the native animals like deers. The plaza was transformed into an artificial ice rink every Christmas in the time of humans, now, the plaza is turn into an ice rink provided by Mother Nature. Steven S. Ross stated that during the winter, water would freeze on the rink area itself and pile up and during the spring, the iceberg would melt and continue to add the water underneath the buildings, beginning to deteriorate the foundations. At spring, the plaza becomes a giant flower pot, Steven S. Ross stated that the plaza would become garden early and its a good place for growth. Looking over is the Statue of Prometheus, a figure from Greek mythology credited with creating mankind. Steven S. Ross stated that the Prometheus statue itself would survive due to it made of bronze and for first five to 10 years, the gold would continue to shine however the gold is very thin on the layer and would be scour down from rain, hail, and dust to the original bronze.
In 30 years after people, the walls of the buildings have undergone a transformation. Steven S. Ross stated that the seams have caught lot of seeds and dirt and in 20 to 30 years, the green grid would start to appear and spread over the buildings. Closer in, the bronze statue of Prometheus have been oxidize by the expose nature of oxygen.
In 150 years after people, the Rockefeller Center have been transformed with vegetation, where once a tree that had to be brought in by road to celebrate the holiday season, the greenery is on permanent display. The entire plaza and the buildings surrounding it is covered in greenery.
