Old North Church, officially the Christ Church in the City of Boston, is the location from which the famous "One if by land, two if by sea" signal is said to have been sent. This phrase is related to Paul Revere's midnight ride of April 18, 1775, which preceded the Battles of Lexington and Concord during the American Revolution. It was built in 1723 and is the oldest standing church building in Boston and a National Historic Landmark.[1]

Coverage[]

Old North Church was featured in The Bodies Left Behind. In the timeline segment of 5 years after people, weeds have transformed the historic streets of Boston, and Old North Church is under attack. Robert Allison stated if windows are blown out, rain, pigeons, and animals will enter the interior of the church. He also stated that vines and maple trees would start to grow in Old North Church, and it will sprout the rotting wood. With these elements, the interior of the church will have been invaded and conquered by nature.

By 35 years after people, the Old North Church have been neglected and its on the verge of collapse. Robert Allison stated that the steeple of the church would be susceptible to the big storm since it was taller. Thus, when the storm rolls in, a strong gust of wind causes the Old North Church steeple, where Paul Revere left his message to warn Americans of a British invasion, to collapse.
