LAND 16 9 (NotreDame)

Concept art of the Notre-Dame de Paris.

Notre-Dame de Paris, also referred to simply as Notre-Dame, is a medieval Catholic cathedral on the Ile de la Cite, in the 4th arrondissement of Paris. The cathedral, dedicated to the Virgin Mary, is considered to be one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture, as well as one of France's most recognisable landmarks.[1]

Coverage[]

The Notre-Dame de Paris is featured in Bound and Buried in 2,000 years after people.

From across the river where the Louvre once stood, Notre Dame still stands, weathered and damaged but still clearly recognisable. It is built entirely of stone and the show stated that it was held together by the eternal force of gravity. Steven S. Ross stated that the basic structure of Notre Dame, especially the two bell towers, would remain standing and still be recognizable after 2,000 years. The visual shows that the roof is missing including the flèche, which collapsed long ago. The stonework has also sustained some damage, with small portions of the tops of the towers being broken off and some of the decorative pillars also having missing pieces. It is unknown for how much longer the cathedral will stand, but at this point in the future, it appears that this iconic building is going nowhere fast.
