5 days after people; Dangerous gases like methane begin to seep into the MetLife Building (formerly known as the Pan Am Building) from New York's abandoned subway system that has been flooded with sewage.

10 years after people; A large explosion occurs at the base of the MetLife Building when the gases that have been collecting inside the building for a decade.

The top falls onto Grand Central Terminal

100 years after people; Due to being built on one of the highest points in Manhattan, the MetLife Building is more exposed to the elements, this hastens corrosion.

150 years after people: Weakened from the explosion at its base and over a century of corrosion, the MetLife Building finally collapses and crashes on top of Grand Central Terminal. It was closed soon after.
