The Greyhound is a breed of dog, a sighthound which has been bred for coursing game and greyhound racing. It is also referred to as the English Greyhound. Since the rise in large-scale adoption of retired racing Greyhounds, the breed has seen a resurgence in popularity as a family pet.[1]

Coverage[]

Greyhounds were featured in The Invaders.

In 10 days after people, some greyhounds escaped from more than 40 dog tracks around the United States, including in Florida where one group of it roams free. Greyhounds were often fed with raw meat to increase their competitiveness instinct when chasing mechanical rabbits, after escaping, they start hunting down real rabbits as well as rats. However, the dogs track with their eyes, not their noses. Tom Jackson stated that greyhounds are sight hounds and used to hunting down their prey by running. Greyhounds can also scavenge for food but it requires co-operation and greyhounds have been trained to beat their competitors at any cost. Ray Coppinger stated that the dogs would begin to compete for resource between each other and there would be aggression and fighting.

Greyhounds have thin skins and easily injured, and the survival of greyhounds will be short-lived to the race to survive.
