The structure was meant to "represent" Dubai, like the Space Needle represents Seattle, the Eiffel Tower represents Paris, the Big Ben represents London, the Statue of Liberty represents New York City, the Golden Gate Bridge represents San Francisco, and the Hollywood Sign represents Los Angeles. The hotel itself is known as one of the worlds best hotels and has a rating of five starts deluxe, although many claims it to be seven stars. Sadly, the lowest price on the hotel is 1780$ which is one night per person. Now without guests, the hotel falls victim to Dubai's desert winds.

Due to its advanced corrosion rate, 50 years of negligence is all it takes for the Burj Al Arab to collapse. The corroded, mold-ridden structure falls to pieces.
